October 2025 – Our First eTwinning Activity: Europe Code Week
The 2nd Primary School of Malesina, with the students of Grade 3 and their teacher, Ioanna Sarrou, proudly launched its eTwinning journey by participating in the first collaborative activity of our project during Europe Code Week.
The main objective of this activity was to develop students' computational thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills through an engaging coding challenge.
Working together with our partner school, the students created a coded message, which they encoded and exchanged with their partners. They then received a coded message in return and worked collaboratively to decode it by using logical thinking, observation, and teamwork.
This unplugged coding activity provided an enjoyable and meaningful learning experience. It introduced students to basic coding concepts without the use of computers while encouraging communication, cooperation, and critical thinking. At the same time, it gave them the opportunity to interact with their European peers and experience the true spirit of international collaboration through eTwinning.
Our first project activity was a great success. The students were enthusiastic, actively involved, and excited to discover the hidden messages exchanged with their partner school. It was a wonderful beginning to our eTwinning project and an inspiring way to celebrate Europe Code Week.
We are looking forward to many more exciting activities and collaborations throughout our eTwinning journey!
